Commenting on the news that Orkambi and Symkevi are to be made free at the point of use on the NHS, Scottish Labour MSP Jackie Baillie MSP said:
“It is brilliant news that Orkambi and Symkevi are to be made free at the point of use on the NHS.
“These are lifesaving drugs that can help those with cystic fibrosis have a better quality of life and live to old age.
“Today’s decision wouldn’t be possible without the grit and determination of campaigners like Kelli Gallacher who have made the case for these drugs to be made available freely so powerfully.
“I also thank the Health Secretary for the interest and support she has given in this campaign since she took office.”
