Commenting on the embargoed release by the Scottish Childminding Association, Scottish Labour's Education spokesperson Iain Gray MSP said:
"This is the latest warning from the early years sector that the SNP government's expansion of free childcare is not on track to be delivered.
"Just 4 per cent of childminders for all three and four-year olds are currently delivering funded hours and there are only months left for the promised increase in provision to materialise.
"It is time for John Swinney to get to grips with this expansion or this could be another broken promise from the SNP."
