Responding to the publication of the Scottish Affairs Committee report on problem drug use in Scotland, Scottish Labour Health Spokesperson Monica Lennon MSP said:

“The Scottish Affairs Committee has made welcome and robust recommendations on how to tackle Scotland’s drug crisis.

“SNP Ministers must now finally listen and start treating the situation like a public health emergency, which Scottish Labour has been urging them to do in order to save lives.

“Lives are at stake, and the time for talking is over – we need to see urgent action and co-operation between the UK and Scottish Government to implement these recommendations as soon as possible.”
